A downloadable game for Windows

This is my submission for the GameDev.TV's 2024 GameJam.

It is also pretty much my first game! (In terms of things I actually finished and put online.) I am especially super proud and delighted that it not only functions, but also has actual gameplay.

In this game, you are on your last sliver of health. Can you defeat the leader of the monsters with 1 health remaining?

WASD to move, Space to jump, click to attack.

Updated to have the PCK which you apparently need. Sorry about that :(

Updated again to have the other thing the game yells at me about. I hope very thoroughly it actually works this time.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One user suggested I export the game to a singular folder and zip that and submit it. As such, I have done so. If you're downloading this, you should only need either the .exe, .pck, and the data_OneStrike .zip, or just the One Strike Will Decide.zip, which should include all the things needed.

Download

Download
One Strike (GameDevTV Game Jam - Last Stand).exe 65 MB
Download
One Strike (GameDevTV Game Jam - Last Stand).pck 64 kB
Download
data_OneStrikeWillDecide_GameDevTVGameJam-LastStand__windows_x86_64.zip 31 MB
Download
One Strike Will Decide.zip 54 MB

Install instructions

To play this game, you only need to install the "One Strike Will Decide.zip" file. The three other files are how the game was originally sent out, so you only need the aforementioned zip or all three other files. This game is only for windows, though in the future, I will likely see if I can make it accessible to more platforms.

Unfortunately this file has to be a .exe thanks to Godot version 4's insistence that making it a playable web game when it has C# code is impossible. Were I able to upload it as a web game instead of a Windows desktop downloadable, I would have.

I had a look at playing this, but it still wouldn't work.

Try exporting the game into its own folder, and then Zipping that folder with "right-click" > Send To > Zip file.

It sounds interesting and I'd like to give it a go.
